This place is legit. Tucked away in the back corner of the Asia Food Market is this hidden gem. This place has so many great things! There are dim sum options, bbq meat options, and even entree options! I always love walking by this place when I go to the market. I've tried their food several times and I've been happy with it each time. There's even a nice little bread and pastry area right by it. There's a nice little dining area, too, if you wanted to stay and eat your food. Great roasted/bbq pork, chicken, cuttlefish, and duck. All of the hanging meat options I've tried have been wonderful. The ginger scallion sauce that comes with some of the roasted meat is oh. so. very. good. The sauce is a MUST TRY! I think I got it with the chicken and the cuttlefish. The great thing is that they even cut up the meat for you, so it's easier to eat! For the entree, I usually get a roasted duck noodle soup. I was so happy to have found this when I first moved to Syracuse. It comforted me and reminded me a bit of home (Orange County in Southern CA). Since moving to Syracuse, though, I quickly learned that if I really wanted to hit all my cravings, I had to learn how to cook my own food. Two years later, after learning how to make my own roasted duck noodle soup, I feel that their version is a bit bland and could use a little more flavor in their soup. Their roasted duck is still on point though. The dim sum is a hit or miss. I usually like the shumai and hargow. Their lotus paper wrapped sticky rice was a bust though. I didn't like that at all. Their crispy bean curd thing was also not very good. There are lots of options though! The staff here primarily speak Chinese, but they do speak a little English and try to communicate with you. They've always been very friendly and nice to me. I always recommend this place to anyone in Syracuse looking for quick, easy, and good food to take to-go or eat in store.

Like walking into a H.K. street stall. Really authentic. Crispy pork, out comes the cleaver. Roast Duck, out comes the cleaver. I've lived in H.K. and I can verify the authenticity. Do yourself a favour and try it. Plenty of choice and completely unpretentious. Gotta love it.

I've lived in Hong Kong and this restaurant at the back of the Asian Market is authentic Cantonese. I gone back several times and was never disappointed. That said, if you are looking for traditional American Style Chinese, this is not the place for you.

The rice and meat plates are super legit. It's not quite as cheap as what's available in NYC, but it's still a very good deal. I had the Chinese BBQ pork and the crispy roasted pork with rice and napa cabbage, and the combo was probably the best thing I've eaten this month. Had I not tried their dim sum and soy milk, I would have given this place 5/5. Alas, I did, and they were pretty meh so one star fell off. Overall, it was a stellar no-frills experience, and I would totally do it again.

How does this place not have more reviews? Located inside Asia Market, the food here is the real deal. I went in today thinking I would get dim sum but the roast pig looked so good, I got that instead with wonton soup. Probably the best wonton I've had anywhere including NYC and San Francisco Chinatowns! The pig - perfectly crisp skin with tender meat, melts in your mouth. As one of the other reviewers said, "pig" is different from "pork". Pig is basically a pork roast with the skin on while pork is more of what we expect in the U.S. for Chinese pork. If you think Syracuse doesn't have good Chinese, visit here! You will absolutely change your mind!
